Trivector meter (TVM) panels for solar plants and utility interfaces
A TVM panel houses the trivector meter — the utility-grade instrument that records kWh, kVArh and kVAh together with maximum demand in both import and export directions — along with its metering-class CTs and PTs, test terminal block and sealing arrangements. For solar plants, net-metering and open-access consumers, the TVM or ABT meter panel is the DISCOM’s point of settlement, so it must meet the utility’s metering specification exactly. Accu-Panels Energy manufactures TVM panels for 415 V and 800 V AC systems, and for 11 kV / 33 kV CT-PT metering sets, at its Ahmedabad works.
Trivector metering measures the three vectors of AC power — active (kW), reactive (kVAr) and apparent (kVA) — and integrates them into energy registers with time-of-day and maximum-demand data. A TVM panel is the sealed enclosure that mounts the meter, its CT and PT secondary wiring through a test terminal block (TTB), a modem or RS-485 port for remote reading, and the utility’s sealing points, so that billing accuracy and tamper evidence are guaranteed.
- LT metering: 415 V AC direct or CT-operated, CT ratios 100/5 A to 4000/5 A, class 0.2S / 0.5S metering CTs
- 800 V AC solar metering with 800 V-rated PTs and CTs
- HT metering sets: 11 kV / 22 kV / 33 kV CT-PT combined units with TVM / ABT meter panel
- Meters: trivector, ABT-compliant or net meters as specified by the DISCOM (class 0.2S / 0.5S)
- Communication: RS-485 / Modbus, GSM/GPRS modem or optical port for AMR
Indoor TVM panels are built to IP54; outdoor panels to IP65 with canopy per IEC 60529. Meter compartments have transparent, sealable viewing windows and separate, lockable CT/PT and TTB compartments so the utility can seal the metering circuit independently of the consumer’s access.
Wall- or floor-mounted CRCA enclosure (1.6 / 2.0 mm), 7-tank pre-treated and powder coated, with separate compartments for meter, TTB and CT/PT terminations; bottom cable entry with gland plate; earth bar; anti-tamper sealing provisions to utility standards; optional stainless-steel construction for coastal sites.
Recent TVM panels include dual-meter (main and check) arrangements for open-access consumers, ABT-compliant 15-minute block metering for solar plants above 1 MW, integrated NVR protection, and SCADA gateways that forward meter data to the plant monitoring system.
Grid-connected rooftop and ground-mount solar plants (net metering and gross metering), open-access and captive consumers, industrial HT consumers with 11 kV / 33 kV metering, DISCOM feeder metering, and housing societies with common-area metering. Supplied with meter panel boards, solar ACDBs and 800 V LT panels.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a TVM panel and a meter panel board?
A meter panel board is a general term for any enclosure housing energy meters, often multiple consumer meters. A TVM panel specifically houses a trivector or ABT meter with its CT/PT metering circuit, test terminal block and utility sealing for a single settlement point.
Which CT class is required for billing metering?
Utilities typically specify class 0.2S or 0.5S metering CTs and PTs matched to the meter class; we procure and calibrate them per the DISCOM specification.
Do you supply the trivector meter?
Yes, from DISCOM-approved makes, or we build the panel around a utility-supplied meter.
Can the TVM panel be read remotely?
Yes. RS-485 / Modbus, GSM modem or optical-port AMR options are provided as the utility allows.
Send your DISCOM metering specification to our team for a compliant TVM panel drawing and offer.
